It is quite impressive how people here in Mexico naturally know how to help themselves and achieve an impressive result with the simplest of means.
These plastering tools, which are built in just a few minutes, are used as floats or squeegees to apply plaster to walls and smooth them out.
Walls of all sizes are smoothed very evenly and finely with these homemade tools.
In most cases, the masons use wood, that has previously been used for other purposes, to build those tools. In doing so, they save their bosses money and make sure he stays happy. Then on the next construction site they simply build new tools.
Parts of this vertical beam of scaffolding were in use as a ladder a few days/weeks earlier...
...and as far as I can tell, this ladder was not manufactured according to the dozens of OSHA standards and regulations. On the contrary, its length is adjusted accordingly, if necessary, and of course, is repaired here and there.
A reliable power supply on the construction site is essential!
I was taught that power sources should be kept from getting wet!
This magnificent example of an outdoor socket does its job steadfastly and is not upset, even by heavy rain.
